“formally trained ear-player,” Jimmy Brown is Senior Music
Editor of Guitar World magazine in New York City, a dream job for him
in which he passionately applies his talents for music, teaching and
writing. A resident of the Poconos since 1998, Jimmy is a longtime fixture
of the local music scene, particularly as a solo act at the Gem &
Keystone, and also performs with his New Jersey-based seven-piece wedding
band.
Jimmy ‘s act features shimmering acoustic and rocking electric
guitar sounds, foot-operated percussion and rousing but pleasing vocals
and covers a wide variety of artists, from the Beatles, the Eagles,
Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Allman Bros. Band and James Taylor to
Nirvana, Steely Dan, John Mayer, the Dave Mathews Band, U2, The Police,
Johnny Cash and even Frank Sinatra (to name a few!). Jimmy prides himself
on his polished sound and ability to satisfy diverse audience requests.
